Rentrak taps Bill Livek as CEO

DIGITAL: Former Experian executive replaces Rosenbaum

By Danny King -- Video Business, 6/17/2009

JUNE 17 | DIGITAL: Rentrak has tapped former Experian executive Bill Livek as its new CEO, the DVD distribution and audience-measurement company said today.

Livek replaces Paul Rosenbaum, who has been chairman and CEO of the company since September 2000. Rosenbaum will remain chairman.

Livek will lead a company whose earnings have increased as its higher-margin audience-measurement service grows while its primary pay-per-transaction division flattens. Earlier this month, Rentrak said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 33% on recent agreements for its media-audience data tracking service with companies including InDemand Networks and SeaChange International.

Livek previously worked for Experian, which provides credit reporting and direct marketing services. He was the co-president of Experian Research Services, specializing in broadening the company’s advertising service and boosting its business in China and Brazil.

Rentrak yesterday said it was partnering with video-delivery systems operator Concurrent on a service that measures video-audience levels across television, personal computers and mobile phones.
