SEPT. 5 | LG Electronics will launch a second-generation dual-format high-definition disc player, its first to fully play back advanced interactivity in both formats, in mid October.
The BH200, priced at $999, can playback BD-Java and HDi, the advanced bonus feature specs for Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD, respectively.
The player will be unveiled for the public at CEDIA Thursday.
Unlike LG's first-gen model, which bowed seven months ago, the BH200 is certified to carry the HD DVD logo.
The Blu-ray format allows for greater variance among players. Its logo was stamped on LG's first models.
“LG introduced the world’s first high-definition dual-format player to focus on consumer needs and to end the confusion caused by the current format war,” said Allan Jason, VP of consumer electronics marketing at LG Electronics USA. “The launch of BH200 reinforces our leadership position and offers consumers and custom installers a best-in-class next-generation high-definition media player.”
