JAN. 5 | Veteran sales executive Linda Buckley-Bruno has been named publisher of Video Business, overseeing the magazine’s growing family of properties.

Concurrent with Buckley-Bruno’s promotion, Marcy Magiera was named editor-in-chief for VB properties. The moves come as VB and Variety’s online group launch ContentAgenda.com, a new business-to-business Web site dedicated to the impact of digital technology on the home entertainment business.

“Linda’s keen understanding of the home entertainment business and creative approach to the needs of its marketers are a large part of the success that Video Business has enjoyed to date,” said Variety Group president and publisher Charlie Koones, to whom Buckley-Bruno reports. “With Linda leading our strategic business efforts and Marcy setting our editorial direction, I’m confident VB will continue to meet the needs of our current customers and readers, while broadening the audience for its must-have information about a business in the midst of such dynamic change.”

A key component of VB’s evolution is the launch of Content Agenda, currently in Beta form.

Anchored by the voice of VB editor-at-large Paul Sweeting, Content Agenda takes a broad view of home entertainment news from around the world, organizing aggregated news, blogs and user-generated content into channels dedicated to developments in discs and downloads, policy and intellectual property issues and content and consumer commerce.

Buckley-Bruno, who most recently was associate publisher, joined VB in 1991 and was promoted to director of sales in 2001 and associate publisher in 2005.

Magiera became editor of VB in 1998 and for the past year has held the title of editorial general manager.
