New Rules for Shows in China?
A new set of regulations proposed by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce regarding foreign tradeshow organizers has, at best, confused companies that have worked in the country for years and may, at worst, seriously limit their ability to continue to do so.

Eight Is Enough For MD&M West
Matt Kranyak, a business development director for Plano, Texas-based Creation Technologies, said he was thrilled when he showed up for Canon Communications' Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West, held Jan. 29-31 at the Anaheim (Calif.) Convention Center, and learned he could visit seven more advanced manufacturing events all for the same price.

How does a show go from being a TSW Fastest 50 winner to nearly nonexistent in just two years? The answer isn't entirely clear, but has something to do with a date change and a disagreement between the show's management and one of its vendors.

Fourth Building at WMC
Construction is scheduled to begin later this year on the fourth structure at World Market Center in Las Vegas, for which officials recently announced they had received all city approvals. According to plans, the 1.1 million square foot Building D will connect to Building C and have enough flexible event space for up to 150,000 square feet of temporary exhibits.
