Palm Pre gets Netflix application
September 22, 2009
Add Palm's Pre to the list of mobile devices with applications that let users manage their Netflix queues.
Web site PreCentral.net is offering downloads of the application, called MyQ For Netflix, blog HackingNetflix.com reported late last week.
Since the application was launched early last week, about 7,600 people have downloaded it, according to PreCentral.net.
Applications have always resonated with tech-savvy Netflix subscribers. The company in May launched a section its Web site dedicated specifically for applications that can be used by subscribers looking to order movies from devices such as mobile phones.
Sales of so-called smart phones are expected to jump this year with the release of Palm's Pre and Apple's new version of its iPhone. While Palm doesn't disclose Pre sales, Apple's unit sales of iPhones jumped sixfold in the most recently completed quarter after it priced its new 3GS at $99.
