2 billion Apple Apps downloaded
September 28, 2009
So
said Apple today. The company didn't break out how many of those downloads were for paid apps vs. free ones. Apple now has more than 85,000 apps in its App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Those include studio-created Apps such as Fox Mobile Entertainment's Family Guy app, Summit Entertainment's Twilight Tracker and Disney's Toy Story game. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment
has made a big push into apps with plans to distribute Apps from others in a bid to secure a piece of the business equal to its share of the movie business.
The App store is now listing top-grossing Apps. No. 2 on the list is EA's Madden NFL 10, the top app from the entertainment or games category.
