Gran Torino DVD, Blu-ray
March 24, 2009
Snubbed by the Oscars, maybe, but Gran Torino was adopted by audiences. After earning $143.8 million in theaters, Gran Torino will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on June 9 (prebook April 28).
Starring and directed by Clint Eastwood, Warner's drama tells the story of a veteran of the Korean war who tries to reform his teenage neighbor after he tries to steal the vet's Gran Torino.
The movie will be priced at $19.95 for a single DVD, $28.98 for a two-DVD set and $35.99 for Blu-ray.
The extras packages look a little slim: two featurettes about the cat ("Manning the Wheel: American Car Culture and Manhood" and "Gran Torino: More Than a Car") on both the two-DVD and Blu-ray sets, plus the making-of "The Eastwood Way: His Filmmaking Process Up Close" exclusively on Blu-ray. Both also will have digital copy.
