Blades of Glory DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray
June 4, 2007
Sorry about my absence. Been swamped. But I've got a good one for you today. Paramount will slide Blades of Glory on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc on Aug. 28 (prebook July 17).
Even if you're not a fan of Will Ferrell, you've got to know this will score points in homes. Mostly, I think it will be a big sell-through title, but it'll get rentals too for those who aren't huge Ferrell fans but are curious.
Blades of Glory grossed $115.4 million in theaters. Not too shabby. And, of course, as I've already said, it stars Will Ferrell, so it has a built-in audience.
I'm not sure it's the kind of movie people will run to get on high-def. It's no Matrix. But if people have already invested in their high-def players, why not.
Bonuses include featurettes, a music video, MTV interstitials and photo galleries. And the HD DVD and Blu-ray versions add more featurettes, deleted scenes, alternate takes and a gag reel. Ahhh, there's the reason to buy the high-def version.
Oh, I almost forgot. Standard DVD is priced at $29.99 with HD DVD and Blu-ray each at $39.99.
