Coraline DVD, Blu-ray

Stop-motion film Coraline, which grossed $75 million in theaters, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 21 (prebook June 2) from Universal.

It will be priced at $39.98 for Blu-ray, $34.98 for the the two-DVD set and $29.98 for the single DVD.

Featuring voices of Dakota Fanning (playing Coraline), Teri Hatcher, Ian McShane and Keith David, Coraline is directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) and is based on the book by Newbury Honor Medal winnder Neil Gaiman. Coraline tells the story of a 11-year-old who moves to a new town and discovers a secret door that leads to a parallel existence that's like her life but better.

The Blu-ray and two-DVD sets will have the movie in 2D and 3D versions and four pairs of 3D glasses.

The Blu-ray version will have these exclusive features:

·        U-CONTROL ON 2D FEATURE –Universal’s exclusive signature feature allows viewers to delve into the making of the film with the click of the remote without ever leaving the movie. Through picture-in-picture, fans can enhance their understanding of how the movie was made by viewing tours of the sets, animatics and behind-the-scenes moments, including voiceover sessions.

·        CREEPY CORALINE – Director and screenwriter Henry Selick and Coraline author Neil Gaiman take fans deeper into the darker intricacies of Coraline’s alternative worlds.

·        BD-LIVETM Fans can access exclusive online and interactive features through their Internet connected Blu-rayTM player, including:

·        MY SCENES SHARING –Show your BD-LiveTM friends your favorite scenes fromthe film.

·        THE WORLD ACCORDING TO HENRY –In this feature, director Henry Selick discusses his approach to the film adaptation of the award-winning book and what he loves about Coraline.

Both the Blu-ray and the two-DVD set will have these extras:

·        DELETED SCENES

·        THE MAKING OF CORALINE Director and screenwriterHenry Selick hosts this behind the scenes feature about how this hand-crafted, stop-motion animated film was made. 

·        VOICING THE CHARACTERS – Coraline’s acclaimedcast and filmmaker Henry Selick talk about their experiences working on the film, including defining the perfect voice for their characters.anywhere, anytime!

·        DIGITAL COPY

And all the versions will include commentary with Selick and composer Bruno Coulais.
