Factory Girl DVD
May 16, 2007
Weinstein's Factory Girl, about Andy Warhol's relationship with Edie Sedgwick, got a lot of buzz during its limited theatrical run, rounding up $1.7 million in less than 500 screens. I remember Sienna Miller, who plays Sedgwick opposite Guy Pearce's Warhol, touting the movie on The Today Show. So it already has awareness.
Weinstein, through
Genius, will bring out the movie on DVD on July 17.
I couldn't find a prebook date or price on the press release, so I'll let you know when I know. Prebook is June 5 and the SRP is $28.95.
Extras include commentary, deleted scenes, a making-of featurette, Miller's audition footage (interesting), Pearce's video diaries (very interesting) and kudos to Weinstein on including the obvious -- a featurette on the real Sedgwick and Warhol. It might be obvious, but many studios don't invest in it. So we're grateful for that.
When's the HD DVD version coming?
