The Marine
November 21, 2006
Sorry for the silence over here for a few days. Apart from the fact that my other work is keeping me busy, there hasn't been too much to rave over as far as product announcements go. (But I will have some big ones on Monday, so stay tuned.)
But here's something to keep you chewing on during Thanksgiving.
Fox is delivering
The Marine in widescreen unrated or fullscreen theatrical on Jan. 30 (prebook Jan. 17) with the unrated version bowing on Blu-ray on Feb. 13 (just in time for Valentine's Day. I'm sure they planned that).
Now, if you missed it in theaters (
The Marine grossed $17.9 million, so many did), it's the old action adventure with a discharged Marine chasing the bad guys who have kidnapped his wife. Following in The Rock's footsteps, WWE personality John Cena plays the Marine and Kelly Carlson plays the wife in distress. (Nip/Tuck fans should know this already.)
Fox is pricing the standard DVD at $29.98 and the Blu-ray version at $39.98.
Extras on the unrated discs (standard and Blu-ray) include a making-of featurette, four featurettes on Cena, 11 promotional featurettes about the WWE, a featurette about the world premiere at Camp Pendleton and an Easter Egg.
