MGM, Fox DVDs go pink for cure
July 18, 2007
Sorry I haven't posted much this week. The video industry's annual Home Media Expo is going on in Vegas and we've been kept very busy. Check out some crazy pics from the show. (And when I say crazy, I mean that literally. Crazy Legs Conti was there breaking another eating record.)
But onto the DVD news.
Fox and
MGM are bringing out special editions of a bunch of hit titles in pink packaging (cute, huh?) on Sept. 18 (prebook Aug. 29), with 50 cents from the sale of each disc going to the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure breast cancer foundation. The studios have pledged that at least $250,000 will be donated.
The titles include An Affair to Remember, A Walk in the Clouds, Entrapment, Ever After, In Her Shoes, Legally Blonde, Mermaids, Moulin Rouge, Never Been Kissed, Say Anything, Thelma & Louise and There's Something About Mary — all suitable romantic or empowering. Each will be priced at $14.98.
