Die Hard Collection
April 17, 2007

It was bound to happen. Fox is delivering a boxed set of Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With a Vengeance in time for the theatrical release of the fourth movie in the series, Live Free of Die Hard. (Coincidentally, the movies also have been running on cable of late.)

The Die Hard Collection will be in stores on June 19 (prebook May 23), a week before the June 27 launch of Live Free. And good thing too. The Die Hard Collection will contain movie money so consumers can see Live Free for, well, free.

The four-disc Die Hard set also has commentaries and an alternate version of the original -- and still best -- movie in the franchise. Plus, there's an extra disc with a teaser for Live Free and two featurettes: "Wrong Guy, Wrong Place, Wrong Time: A Look Back at Die Hard" and "The Continuing Adventures of John McClane."

That John McClane always seems to be in the wrong place at the right time, but that's lucky for us. The second and third movies got a bit corny, but the first is the epitome of action with humor -- like the first Lethal Weapon -- and let's hope the fourth movie honors the formula. This time McClane is battling an Internet terrorist who's shutting down the U.S. Sounds like a season of 24.

Bruce Willis is still playing the man's man, and he's still sexy, albeit with less hair. Here's a look at Willis' McClane throughout the franchise.
