Mrs. Doubtfire, 40-Year-Old Virgin special editions
March 15, 2007
Don't you love the names studios come up with for special editions?
Fox on May 8 (prebook April 11; DVD $19.98) is bringing out
Mrs. Doubtfire Behind-the-Seams Edition, and
Universal on May 22 (prebook April 17) is delivering the unrated
The 40-Year-Old Virgin Double Your Pleasure Edition (it has two discs ... get it?) on
DVD ($26.98) and
HD DVD ($29.98).
Mrs. Doubtfire, the 1993 movie in which Robin Williams dresses up as a woman and becomes super nanny to his own children, offers up new on-camera interviews with Williams; deleted scenes; on-the-set featurettes that look at casting, costumes and make-up tests; alternate takes with Williams' ad-libbing; a conversation with animator Chuck Jones who designed the credit sequence; and a making-of featurette from 1993.
Virgin's
Double Your Pleasure edition contains 90 minutes of new bonus features, according to Universal, including 17 minutes of new deleted scenes. The DVD package also will contain a free movie ticket to Virgin writer-director Judd Apatow's new film,
Knocked Up, which get a great
review from Variety.
