1408 DVD
August 17, 2007
I feel as though I've written this before, so forgive me if you've already read it on this blog. 1408 was the little movie that could over the summer. The $72 million-grossing paranormal thriller based on a Stephen King short story stars John Cusack as a writer who stays in a room that has been the venue of 57 deaths so he can debunk the rumors of ghostly happens there. But, well, this is Stephen King, so of course, there are ghostly happens.
Weinstein's Dimension label will deliver the movie to DVD on Oct. 2 (prebook Aug. 21) through distributor Genius. It will come in a two-disc Collector's Edition for $32.95 or fullscreen or widescreen vanilla editions priced at $29.95 each.
The Collector's Edition will offer five deleted scenes, commentary and three featurettes: "The Secrets of 1408—A Behind-the-Scenes Look," "John Cusack on 1408" and "Inside Room 1408" (oooh, spooky). The standard offering has just the last two featurettes.
