What is it about April that makes it so special?

Another small but acclaimed Oscar-nominated movie is debuting on disc that month: Volver (best actress Penelope Cruz) on April 3 (prebook March 1). This is coming the same day as The Good Shepherd, a week before Bobby on April 10 and two weeks before Notes on a Scandal and The Last King of Scotland on April 17 (see my previous posts). Can't wait to see what will be scheduled for April 24.

Sony has priced Volver at $28.95 on DVD and $38.96 on Blu-ray. And the DVD extras include AFI's tribute on Cruz (sounds like something that should have been released before the Oscars), directos and cast interviews, a making-of featurette, a photo gallery and a commentary with Cruz and director Pedro Almodovar. No word if the commentary will need subtitles.
