Paramount confirmed it will bring DreamWorks’ Shrek the Third to DVD on Nov. 13, setting the disc at a $29.99 price point. Prebook is Sept. 18. The movie, which features all the voice actors of the first two movies in the franchise, grossed $320 million. DVD extras include commentary, additional scenes, featurettes, music videos and DVD-ROM content.
PLUS: Genius will bring Weinstein’s animated family movie The Reef, about a young guppy fish, voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr., who moves to a coral reef after his family is netted by fishermen, to DVD Oct. 9 (prebook Aug. 28) priced at $19.95. Bonuses include commentary and a storyboard gallery.
Warner will debut volume three of its Tom & Jerry Spotlight Collection on Sept. 11 (order now; DVD $26.99), including 35 cartoons, a featurette and a short.
Anime film Tekkonkinkreet, about two street urchins who battle evil, will be released by Sony on DVD, PSP ($26.96 each) and Blu-ray ($38.96) on Sept. 25 (prebook Aug. 23) with a making-of featurette, commentary and an interview with the director and British rock band Plaid.
And Casper Meets Wendy: Family Fun Edition, with Hilary Duff as young witch Wendy, will arrive from Fox on Sept. 11 (prebook Aug. 15; DVD $19.98). The 1998 TV movie will come with featurettes, a mockumentary, a photo gallery and games.
