Little Miss Sunshine
October 31, 2006
It's the little film that could ($57 million in box-office green), and Little Miss Sunshine is driving to DVD on Dec. 19 (prebook Nov. 16; DVD $29.98).
If you didn't catch this in theaters -- and you like off-beat humor (Steve Carell is not doing his much subdued in this movie compared to others) -- rush out on Dec. 19.
Little Miss Sunshine is a gem that will have you rolling on the floor -- which is much less embarrassing when you're watching it at home than in a theater.
The supplements on
Fox's disc is pretty standard but not to be overlooked. The four alternate endings look like the best bet. There's also a music video for DeVotchka's "Till the End of Time" and two commentaries, but it seems a bit like overkill to have one commentary with co-directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and another with them and writer Michael Arndt. Hopefully Dayton and Faris have a LOT to say.
