TV: Beauty and the Beast, Girlfriends, What I Like About You

Wow, Paramount's busy getting TV shows started on DVD right now. As well as Hawaii Five-O and Family Ties (check out the previous post), the studio is introducing the Linda Hamilton starring Beauty and the Beast (remember that one?) on Feb. 13 (aaahhh, right in time for Valentine's Day). The six-disc set prebooks on Jan. 2 and will be priced at $49.99. No news on special features.

And Paramount will bring out Girlfriends: The First Season on Feb. 27 (prebook Jan. 16). Priced at $39.99, the four-disc set has all 22 episodes but doesn't look like there are any special features.

Meanwhile, Warner is bowing the Amanda Bynes/Jennie Garth sitcom What I Like About You: The Complete First Season on April 3 (Warner really likes to look ahead. We applaud them for that.). The three-disc set prebooks on Feb. 27 and will be priced at $39.98 -- and it will have special features. As well as the show's first 22 episodes, the disc will have (drum roll, please) a gag reel! Better than nothing, I suppose.
