Dorian Gray Debuts on Disc
June 9, 2008
The Picture of Dorian Gray, the Albert Lewin-directed 1945 adaptation of the famed Oscar Wilde novel about a man who remains eternally young while his portrait ages over the years, will receive its DVD debut from Warner on Oct. 7 (prebook Sept. 2) for a suggested retail price of $19.97. Long in demand on disc, Dorian Gray, which stars George Sanders and Angela Lansbury, picked up a Best Cinematography Oscar for its inventive use of both black-and-white and color film. Supplements on the DVD include commentaries by Lansbury and film historian Steve Haberman, a vintage short and cartoon and the theatrical trailer.
