Beowulf DVD, HD DVD
January 16, 2008

Robert Zemeckis' 3D animated Beowulf will be released on DVD and HD DVD Feb. 26 (order now). The adventure film grossed $81.5 million, way behind 300's $206 million, but they should share the same audience.

Unlike 300, Beowulf went all the way with it's 3D, leaving the characters looking a little creepy. Ray Winstone headlines, with Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins and Robin Wright Penn also on the list.

Variety said the film was "muscular, sometimes stirring but ultimately soulless." You can read the full review here.

Still, Paramount has packed the Director's Cut DVD ($29.99) with plenty of extras:

œ       A Hero’s Journey: The Making of BEOWULF
