New old Wicker Man
October 27, 2006

Hot off the e-mail, Anchor Bay is releasing the 1973 horror classic The Wicker Man (the one that inspired the Nicholas Cage version, which is still scaring up some dollars in theaters) as a two-disc special edition on Dec. 19, priced at $19.98. The original theatrical movie will be included along with an extended version that has 11 minutes more.

For bonus materials, the company has stuffed in interviews with stars Edward Woodward, Christopher Lee and Ingrid Pitt, director Robin Hardy, producer Peter Snell, writer Anthony Shaffer, editor Eric-Boyd Perkins, ... and a whole bunch more.

There's also a new commentary with Hardy, Lee, Woodward and moderator Mark Kermode.

For all you young Lord of the Rings fans, that's right, Christopher Lee was around before he played Saruman.
