The Graduate 40th Anniversary Edition
July 20, 2007

Time for another DVD of The Graduate, but this time for a good cause -- the movie's 40th birthday.

Through Fox, MGM will deliver this new edition on Sept. 11 (prebook Aug. 15) priced at $24.98. And the studio has given plenty of reasons for consumers to invest in another DVD even if they already have the other three on their shelves -- lots of new extras. Here's the breakdown of disc one:

Ø      NEW Audio commentary by Actors Dustin Hoffman and Katherine Ross

Ø      NEW Audio commentary by The Graduate Director Mike Nichols and Director Steven Soderbergh

Ø      NEW Retrospective documentary featuring today’s filmmakers and film critics talking about the influence of the film.  Participants include Buck Henry (writer of The Graduate), Lawrence Turman (producer of The Graduate), David O. Russell (director of Three Kings), Richard Roeper (critic), Alexander Payne (director of Sideways), Marc Forster (director of Finding Neverland), Peter Bart (Variety editor), Henry Rollins (actor/musician) and more.

Ø      NEW “Coming of Age: The Making of The Graduate” featurette

Ø      NEW “Would You Like Me To Seduce You: The Seduction Scene Revisited” featurette

Ø      Screen tests with video introductions

Ø      One on One with Dustin Hoffman

Ø      Behind the scenes documentary

Ø      Original theatrical trailer

And disc two has a CD with all the great Simon & Garfunkel songs. You can't beat that.
