CJ7, The Counterfeiters, Another Cinderella Story

With all the big summer tentpoles hitting theaters now, there aren't a lot of big announcements on DVD right now.

Here are some upcoming day and date DVD and Blu-ry releases, two foreign language and one romantic comedy:

CJ7, the latest from Kung Fu Hustle director Stephen Chow, arrives on DVD and Blu-ray n Aug. 12 (prebook July 10), priced at $28.96 and $38.96, repsectively.

In Sony's movie, a poor father works hard to send his son to an elite private school, but their lives are changed when the father brings home a pet for his son and they discover it has some strange powers. The movie is in Manderin with English subtitles.

The other foreign-language film, also from Sony, is The Counterfeiters, the 2007 Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar winner. The movie bows on DVD and Blu-ray on Aug. 5 (prebook July 3), priced the same as CJ7.

The movie is based on the true story of Salomon Sorowitsch, known as Berlin's "King of the Counterfeiters," who, after being placed in a Nazi concentration camp, agreed to forge bank notes for the German army in exchange for a comfortable bed, good food and fair treatment. It's based on the book The Devil's Workshop by Adolf Burger.

It stars Disney Channel's Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley from The High School Musical concert tour. What else do you need to know?

Extras? "Just That Girl" music video, "Mary: Dancing Ever After," spotlights on Gomez and Seeley, "The Diva Dominique: Spotlight on This Cinderella's Pop-Singing Socialite Stepmother," "Tami's Fantastic Fashions" and three sing-along tracks.
