Pineapple Express DVD, Blu-ray, PSP
October 27, 2008
Sony is holding its $87 million-grossing Pineapple Express for Jan. 6 (prebook Dec. 4). The movie will be priced at $28.96 in a single DVD (theatrical or unrated versions), $34.95 for a two-DVD set, $39.95 for Blu-ray and $24.94 for the PSP.
Starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, the movie follows two lazy stoners who drop a roach with a rare strain of weed (the Pineapple Express of the title) at the scene of a murder and must run for their lives.
The vanilla version will offer commentary, extended/alternative scenes, a gag reel and a making-of featurette. Plus, the unrated version includes both the theatrical and unrated cuts of the movie.
The two-DVD and Blu-ray sets also contain both versions of the movie and the same bonuses, as well as 14 more featurettes and a digital copy that can be downloaded and played on a PC, the PSP and iTunes.
The Blu-ray also has "Ride the Express Game," in which users can play as Dale (Rogen's character) or Saul (Franco's) and scale ladders to retrieve their personal property while avoiding killer pineapples and collecting points.
