The Waitress DVD
September 12, 2007
I'm sorry to say I missed Waitress in theaters, but it got some really great buzz as a sweet story with solid performances from Keri Russell and others.
Sadly, writer/director Adrienne Shelly, who also acted in the movie, was killed before this film began to get its theatrical acclaim, but I'm sure she's happy seeing how well it has fared. The movie grossed $18.8 million in a limited theatrical run.
Fox will serve the Waitress DVD on Nov. 27 (prebook Oct. 31) priced at $29.98. The studio is a Blu-ray-backer, but no word yet on when this movie will make its high-def debut. (But it's not necessarily an early adopter type.)
Fox has piled on the extras:
· Commentary by Producer Michael Roiff and Actor Keri Russell
· “This Is How We Made Waitress Pie” Featurette
· “Written and Directed by Adrienne Shelly: A Memorial” Featurette
· “Hi! I’m Keri. I’ll Be Your Waitress” Featurette
· “The Pies Have It!” Featurette
· “Fox Movie Channel Presents: In Character with Keri Russell”
· “Fox Movie Channel Presents: In Character with Cheryl Hines”
· “Fox Movie Channel Presents: In Character with Nathan Fillion”
· “A Message from Keri Russell about the Adrienne Shelly Foundation”
