Babylon 5: The Lost Tales DVD premiere
April 26, 2007
Bruce Boxleitner, Tracy Scoggins and Peter Woodward are all reprising their roles from the popular TV series for Warner's new Babylon 5: The Lost Tales DVD premiere movie.
The disc will hit stores on July 31 (prebook June 26) priced at $24.98.
The story picks up in 2271, 10 years after John Sheridan (Boxleitner) has been appointed President of the Interstellar Alliance. Here's what the press release says: "
The Lost Tales follows Sheridan as he prepares for a fateful
Babylon 5 reunion that could prevent Earth’s impending doom. Unfortunately, he is also forced to compromise his own principals in doing so. At the same time, commander Lochley confronts an unexpected interloper on the way station – a being whose presence makes the B5 freeport the crossroads between heaven and hell." Oooohhh
Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski wrote and directed the movie, so it's bound to have an authentic appeal -- but now the special effects should be better with new technology.
The show, which aired 1993-99 and is now in syndication, had a big following, prompting five TV movies. It also won a bunch of awards.
The DVD also will include the "Straczynski Diaries," featurettes showing all phases of production of the new movie.
