couple Oscars, three Golden Globes, for starters) will debut May 1 (prebook March 20) on every format -- standard DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray (all $39.99) -- as a two-disc
Showstopper Edition, as well as in a single-disc edition only on DVD ($19.99 MAP).
Paramount's
Showstopper Edition seems rightly named, with 12 extended and alternate scenes and an exclusive never-released performance by Oscar-winning newcomer Jennifer Hudson; a feature-length documentary called "Building the Dream;" behind-the-scenes featurettes on all aspects of the making of the movie; a music video for Beyonce's "Listen;" auditions and screentests; and previsualization sequences. And most of those special features will be presented in high-def on HD DVD and Blu-ray.
The Showstopper DVD also has an image gallery with storyboards, costume designs and more. Why not on the high-def formats?
The single-disc has the 12 new scenes and the music video.
