Likely to make a big splash at retail is the Disney Channel movie Jump In!, which Buena Vista will deliver on April 3 (prebook Feb. 20) in time for family hour during Easter. The TV movie scored the highest ratings ever for a Disney Channel original movie in total viewers (8.2 million) and kids 6-11 (3.7 million) and was the second-most-watched by tweens 9-14. A similarly themed DCOM, High School Musical, was released last year and was the 18th top DVD title for 2006, even after being available for sale on iTunes. With Jump In! even starring HSM’s Corbin Bleu, you can bet youngsters will jump up to buy it. And for good measure, Buena Vista had added a “Learning the Moves” featurette hosted by Bleu. Need we say more?
