Prince Caspian DVD, Blu-ray
August 15, 2008
Disney has set Dec. 2 for the DVD and Blu-ray release of the second film in Walden Media's Chronicles of Narnia adaptations. Prince Caspian will be priced at $29.99 in the single-DVD version, $39.99 in the standard-def two-disc Collector's Edition and a lower $35.99 on Blu-ray.
The $140 million-grossing fantasy adventure continues C.S. Lewis' story of the Pevensie children, when they return to magical Narnia 1,300 years after their first visit. Once again, the battle tyranny and evil to restore peace.
Disney hasn't squared away all the special features yet, but we do know that all the versions will include commentary by the director and actors. The Collector's Edition will add behind-the-scenes interviews, a tour of the film's locations and sets, a featurette on the technology and production of the movie, bloopers and deleted scenes. The Blu-ray will have all that plus BD Live exclusives, a Narnia game and downloadable features.
The press materials also say Prince Caspian will come with DisneyFile, Disney's name for digital copy, but I'm not sure which versions will carry it. Maybe all. I'll let you know. All right, got the info on this. Digital copy will only be on the Collector's Edition DVD and Blu-ray.
Prebook is Oct. 21.
