Pixar Short Films Collection DVD
July 26, 2007

The title just about says it all. Pixar Short Films Collection will bow on Nov. 6 (prebook Sept. 25) priced at $29.99 from Disney and will contain 13 of the company's shorts. Here's the low down:

1)      The Adventures of Andre & Wally B - The fast-moving in-flight antics of a mischievous bumble bee and his even faster-moving target. (Lucas Film)

2)      Luxo Jr. - Lighthearted fun and games between Luxo Sr., a father lamp, and the little light of his life. (1986 Academy Awards Nominee for Best Animated Short Film)

3)      Red’s Dream - A retired circus unicycle relives his fame and adulation in the dazzling spotlight of the Big Top.

4)      Tin Toy - A musical toy gives his all to entertain a baby who would much rather see what makes him tick, plunk and boom. (1988 Academy Awards Winner for Best Animated Short Film)

5)      Knick Knack - Love and laughter bloom on a bookshelf between souvenirs (music by Bobby McFerrin)

6)      Geri’s Game - Geri (voiced by Bob Peterson) plays a game of chess against himself.  (1997 Academy Awards Winner for Best Animated Short Film)

7)      For The Birds - A group of birds perched on a telephone wire pick on the awkward new bird on the block. (2001 Academy Awards Film Recipient for Best Animated Short Film)

8)      Mike’s New Car - When Mike shows his new car to Sulley, everything that can go wrong does go wrong, and the monsters are left with only their own two feet for transportation. (2002 Academy Awards Nominee for Best Animated Short Film)

9)      Boundin’ - A Jackalope teaches a sheep how "boundin' can raise his spirits. (2003 Academy Awards Nominee for Best Animated Short Film)

10) Jack-Jack Attack - Kari McKean gets more than she bargained for while babysitting Jack-Jack Parr.

11) Mater and the Ghost Light - Mater is "haunted" by a mysterious blue light that teaches him a lesson about playing pranks on the other cars in Radiator Springs.

12) One Man Band - A peasant girl (Tippy, according to the official site) encounters two competing street performers, Bass and Treble (a play on the two musical clefs), who each try to earn her prized gold coin for themselves. (2005 Academy Award Nominee for Best Animated Short Film)

13) Lifted - A young alien student tests the patience of an increasingly weary instructor as he attempts to abduct an innocently slumbering farmer. (2006 Academy Awards Nominee for Best Animated Short Film)

Plus there will be a few bonus features: a behind-the-scenes featurette, a tribute to Bud Luckey, commentary and animation tests.
