How the West Was Won DVD, Blu-ray
April 29, 2008

Western fans get ready. Warner will release the 1962 three-time Oscar winning How the West Was Won on Aug. 26 (prebook July 22).

The movie, remastered from the original Cinerama three-panel release, according to Warner, will be released in three versions:

Two-Disc Special Edition ($20.97): Includes the 96-minute documentary Cinerama Adventure about Cinerama, a making-of featurette about the movie and commentary by a film historian.

Ultimate Collector's Edition ($39.92): The Two-Disc Special Edition plus a 36-page Cinerama souvenir book reproduction, 20 photo cards, a reproduction of the original theatrical pressbook and an offer to mail-in for a poster.

Blu-ray ($34.99): Yep, the Old West in high-def. The Blu-ray version will have the same extras as the Two-Disc set plus a collector's book with photos and details about the production, exclusive to this set.

The releases are part of Warner's 85th anniversary celebrations.
