The Simpsons Movie DVD, Blu-ray
September 25, 2007
The big-screen debut of America's first family — on TV anyway — will come to the small screen on Dec. 18 in the U.S. but the rest of the world gets it two weeks earlier on Dec. 3. Doh!
Fox will release The Simpsons Movie, which earned more than $500 million globally, on DVD ($29.98) and Blu-ray Disc ($39.98), and will support the title with "a massive multi-million-dollar" marketing campaign as well as "innovative in-store promotion" and "news generating stunts and events." I love that last part.
Prebook in the U.S. is Nov. 21.
Here are the "worldwide" DVD special features:
§ Commentary by, James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Mike Scully, David Silverman, Dan Castellaneta, and joined by Yeardley Smith
§ Directors Commentary by David Silverman, Mike B. Anderson, Steven Dean Moore and Rich Moore
§ Deleted scenes
§ Russ Cargill - “Levels”
§ Springfield News
§ DMV
§ Sausage Truck
§ Emperor Moe
§ Alternate Ending
§ Special Stuff
§ Homer’s Monologue On The Tonight Show
§ The Simpsons Judge American Idol
§ Homer Introduces American Idol
§ Let’s All Go To The Lobby
§ Alternate Character Designs by the Directors and Matt Groening
And Blu-ray will have all those but in high-def.
