The Adams Chronicles DVD

John Adams is in the air.
HBO's acclaimed mini-series is playing on the cable network as you read this, and Acorn Media is bowing the 1976 mini-series The Adams Chronicles on DVD on May 13.
The 13-episode Chronicles, which won four Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award, traces 150 years of history through the eyes of Adams and his heirs. Wonder Boys' George Grizzard stars as Adams, with St. Elsewhere's William Daniels as John Quincy Adams and Neighbors' Kathryn Walker as Abigail Smith Adams. Sopranos mother Nancy Marchand also has a role.
The DVD comes with a 12-page program guide with articles by the editor-in-chief of the Adams Papers, C. James Taylor, and the president of the White House Historical Assn., Neil Horstman.
The four-disc boxed set is prived at $59.99.
