Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver SurferAugust 9, 2007Fox hasn't released a street date for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but it has a prebook date: Aug. 8, yesterday, for pre-packs and Sept. 5 for singles, according to the WaxWorks/VideoWorks Hot Sheet. So what does this mean? Probably that the DVD will be in stores by early October latest. With $130 million earned at the box office, the actioner is still in some theaters, 307 last weekend according to Variety. Fox's Hot Sheet ad says the movie will come to DVD as a single disc with commentary by director Tim Story or as "The Power Cosmic Edition 2-Disc Set," with director and writer commentaries, extended and deleted scenes, a making-of featurette and a visual effects featurette. In response to: Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer Andy commented: You said that "The Power Cosmic Edition 2-Disc Set" will contain extended scenes. Will these be seemlessly incoporated into the film? If so, how much longer will the film be?

In response to: Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer Samantha Clark commented: No, these will most likely be extended scenes that you can access separately as a special feature. But don't be surprised if Fox releases a "director's cut" or some such down the road with some extended or deleted scenes in the movie.
