Star Wars: The Clone Wars DVD, Blu-ray
September 25, 2008
The latest installment in the ever-popular Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray by Warner on Nov. 11 (prebook Oct. 7).
Prices will be $28.98 for a single DVD, $34.99 for a two-disc special edition DVD and $35.99 for Blu-ray.
The animated movie grossed only $33.9 million in theaters, a far cry from the haul of the live-action films, but it might do better on video as fans might want to have it in their collections just to be complete.
One of the many that missed it in theaters? Check out the trailer:
If the movie doesn't pull in fans. Maybe the special features will. Warner and LucasArts have packed the two-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray with extras. (The single DVD just has a commentary.)
Both the two-disc special edition and Blu-ray versions will come with "The Clone Wars: The Untold Stories," a sneak peak into season one of the animated series that debuts on Cartoon Network in the fall; featurettes on the voice recording sessions and scoring for the movie; a 43-image gallery; six Webisodes; four deleted scenes; three Clone Wars trailers, including one for the videogame; and a downloadable digital copy.
Blu-ray also will offer a BD Java hologram memory challenge, with which winners can unlock three sneak peaks from the TV series. Wonder if they're the same as in the featurette.
