Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
December 12, 2006
Jack Black loves to rock. His Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, based on characters Black created years ago, didn't rock too hard in theaters, racking up only $7 million and disappearing from screens quite quickly. But New Line's bringing the title to DVD on Feb. 27 (prebook Jan. 23), and this kind of film is ripe to become a cult classic in home entertainment.
Priced at $27.95, the disc boasts plenty to keep Tenacious D fans busy. Black, co-star Kyle Gass and director Liam Lynch recorded a commentary. Lynch also intros the deleted scenes. Then there's a making-of documentary, an "In the Studio" featurette and a featurette on the making of the video for "The Pick of Destiny," as well as the video itself. And New Line has added a handy jump to a song jukebox for all those who can't get enough of Black's rockin'.
