May 30, 2007
Here's some news that will interest Lucas and Zemeckis fans, as reported by our very own Susanne Ault:
Fox will be unearthing early work by such high-profile talent as George Lucas and Robert Zemeckis in
Reel Talent: First Films by Legendary Directors on Aug. 21 (prebook July 25).
All 12 of the included short films have not yet been released on DVD. The set is priced at $19.98. A never-seen interview with Lucas, plus interviews with Zemeckis and Richard L. Bare, are among the Reel Talent extras.
The featured Lucas films are racing movie 1:42:08 A Man and His Car, the futuristic Electronic Labyrinth THX 1138 4EB and chase flick Freiheit.
From Zemeckis comes Vietnam War drama Field of Honor, which won the Student Academy Award in 1975, and creepy elevator movie The Lift.
Other featured Reel Talent films are Shawn Levy’s Broken Record, Richard Kelly’s The Goodbye Place, Richard L. Bare’s The Oval Portrait, Stephen Sommers’ Perfect Alibi, Kevin Reynolds’ Proof, Jon Turtletaub’s Whatever It Takes and James Foley’s Silent Night.
