Skinwalkers DVD
September 21, 2007
Busy, busy week.
If you didn't see it in our news, Warner is releasing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Dec. 11 on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray (thanks, WHV) as well as in a Limited Edition gift set packed in a collectible suitcase (or trunk, if you're British). Very cool.
But on to the post of the moment, Lionsgate announced Skinwalkers for Nov. 27 release (prebook Oct. 31) on DVD ($28.98).
The werewolf movie didn't make much of a dent at the box office, just making it over $1 million in less than 1,000 screens. According to Rotten Tomatoes, critics didn't think much of it, with only 16%, and users gave it 27%.
However, it's a horror, and those do well on disc. And it has some familiar faces: Roswell's Jason Behr, Nip/Tuck's Rhona Mitra. Plus, that box art looks pretty sexy. Of course, it's the same as the theatrical poster...
Not too much in the way of special features: pre-visualization and digital effects comparisons, director's commentary and deleted scenes.
