> Solid tale of marital infidelity with a strong, sexy cast.
Director Richard Eyre (Notes on a Scandal) delves into the realm of duplicitous sexual shenanigans with this handsomely mounted production offering a top-notch cast. Liam Neeson is a British software engineer who discovers that his wife (Laura Linney) is having an affair. Neeson’s search for her lover brings him to a Spanish man (Antonio Banderas) in Italy, where the fireworks, confrontations and confessions begin. Though not as riveting as Notes or as sexy as Adrian Lyne’s Unfaithful, Other Man will garner interest for people seeking a classically fashioned tale about seedy situations and subjects.
Shelf Talk: Name recognition will make this a solid mover, especially to audiences who like their erotic-spiked dramas mounted with literacy and handsome production values. Though Other Man’s theatrical run was limited, the three leads have genuine DVD clout, and the Internet push from Image should lend a hand.
