> Candy-colored Monsters shine brighter in Blu.
John Goodman’s lumbering Sulley, scare champion with a heart of gold, makes the perfect spokesmonster for Blu-ray. Not only is he the perfect color, when seen in high-def his fur practically crackles with static electricity, every strand alive. And the voice—it booms like nobody’s business in 5.1 sound. In fact, all the brightly colored residents of Monstropolis look brilliant on Blu-ray, adding texture to the sweet story of supposedly scary monsters scared silly by a lost little girl they call “Boo.” The disc is packed with new bonus features, including an interactive game and a preview of the Monsters, Inc. attraction at Tokyo Disneyland and old favorites including short Mike’s New Car.
Shelf Talk: Consumers have an appetite for all things Pixar. Merchandise with the studio’s most recent box-office hit, Up, which also streets Nov. 10.
