Green Planet Films unveils trio of new docs

By Wendy Wilson -- Video Business, 6/12/2009

JUNE 12 | San Francisco-based Green Planet Films is offering up three fresh documentaries for the environmentally conscious consumer, each touching on a key green area of interest: conservation, recycling and alternative energy sources.

  • Sharks: Stewards of the Reef combines footage of fishing operations and interviews to provide a look at the dangers facing tropical sharks. A veteran of the film festival circuit, Sharks: Stewards of the Reef has garnered a number of awards in various categories including Best Film Nature Documentary at the Black Oak Film Festival, Best Short at the Animal Advocacy Artivest Film Festival and Best Short Documentary at the Eugene International Film Festival. The title runs 30 minutes and carries a suggested retail price of $19.95.
  • Future Fuels, a 34-minute primer on alternative and renewable energy sources, includes an explanation of the advantages and drawbacks to each. Additional online resources on the subject are offered as DVD extras. Future Fuels is priced at $19.99.
  • Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home follows one family as they save all of the garbage they produce for three months. The documentary goes on to reveal where all of that waste ends up once it has been discarded. With a running time of 76minutes, Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home is priced at $20.

All three films are available now.
