Oil documentary Crude Impact in stores April 14

March 24 | Documentary Crude Impact, an examination of the world’s increasing dependency on petroleum, will be available at retail April 14 (order now).In stores in time for Earth Day, Crude Impact discusses how the myth of endless supply and exponential population growth are contributing to the planet’s race to “world peak oil,” the point at which the supply of oil begins its inevitable decline. The film also offers a look at the social impact of the global oil grab, from wars and human rights violations to catastrophic environmental damage. Interviews from representatives of research organization Worldwatch Institute and the Department of Energy are featured.
The film enjoyed a limited theatrical release in such major markets as New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Portland and was televised last year on The Sundance Channel.
Packaged in an eco-friendly case, Crude Impact also includes an hour of additional interviews on topics ranging from globalization, 9-11, alternative fuels and more.
Released by Docurama Films, Crude Impact carries a suggested retail price of $26.95.
