New eco-friendly batteries, cleaners at retail this spring

March 23 | Two new environmentally friendly resources are available to retailers looking to reduce their daily impact in even routine tasks and more minor purchases.New York-based Perf Go Green, a supplier of biodegradable plastics, is introducing a line of green batteries and a line of all-natural cleaning products over the next several weeks.
PerfPower Eco-Alkaline Batteries contain no lead, mercury or cadmium, and the batteries and packaging originated from recycled materials. The product is recyclable as well.
Perf Go Green is supporting the launch of the batteries with a free recycling service available online beginning March 31, an initiative designed to make recycling simple and accessible to consumers. Both the batteries and the online recycling opportunity will be introduced this week at the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago.
The company’s household cleaners, branded “Perf Go Clean,” include a bathroom, glass and multi-purpose cleaner, an air freshener and a stain and odor remover. The products are biodegradable, hypoallergenic and are not tested on animals. In addition to containing none of the environmentally harmful chemicals incorporated into traditional cleaning brands, such as petroleum distillates or ozone depleting ingredients, the packaging for the Perf Go Clean line is biodegradable.
Perf Go Clean products will available in stores beginning May 1.
