> Weak wintry comedy redeemed by some extreme snowboarding sequences.
This silly snowbound comedy finds a snowboard promoter (Jackass’ Dave England) and his team hitting the slopes to film an extreme video and coming up against a rival promoter (a bored-looking Tom Green) as well as a luscious PR babe (Amber Borycki). There’s some raunchy humor, boozing and a dash of nudity here, but the primary appeal is the lively snowboarding footage. Oh, and as far as we can see, there is no “boarding school” or “dropping out” to be found anywhere.
Shelf Talk: Director David Mitchell has hit the slopes previously in such extreme skiing movies as last year’s Shred and, from the ’90s, Ski School 2 and Downhill Willie, so there might be some interest from those who are familiar with his snow comedy stylings. And there might even be a few Green fans left lurking around!
Comedy, color, NR (language, nudity, sexual situations), 94 min., DVD $29.99
Extras: digital copies of this title and Shred
