> Inspiring story of a young Ethiopian in Israel.
This consistently engrossing drama chronicles the adventures of a black Christian Ethiopian child passed off as a Jewish orphan in the mid-’80s “Operation Moses” project to resettle displaced Falasha Jews. Separated from his mother, 9-year-old Schlomo (played by Moshe Agazai and Sirak Sabahat) winds up in Israel, is adopted by a French Sephardic couple and struggles for acceptance within a foreign culture.
Shelf Talk: Highly praised by critics and enthusiastically received at film festivals, Live and Become transcends its social and geographical backgrounds. Those who give it a chance will be moved, ensuring favorable word of mouth.
