> Award-winning Britcom from creators of The Office and Father Ted.
This very funny, fast-moving Britcom has been airing late on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on the IFC Channel, but it deserves a far wider audience. The show follows the basement office exploits of three computer techies—Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade (“Saboo” from The Mighty Boosh) and Katherine Parkinson—and successfully combines comedic elements of producer Ash Atalla’s The Office and writer-director Graham Linehan’s Father Ted. Off-kilter and outrageous, The IT Crowd is Fawlty Towers for tech viewers.
Shelf Talk: The series won the 2008 International Emmy for Best Comedy and has already attracted a loyal U.K. audience. MPI will air TV spots on BBC America, while supporting the DVD release with print and online advertising. Don’t look for an American redo to reinforce the title as NBC has already pulled the plug.
