TV.com streams CBS shows on iPhone

CSI, Star Trek among series available with app

By Jennifer Netherby -- Video Business, 2/26/2009

FEB. 26 | CBS-owned online video site TV.com, which has emerged as a new competitor to Hulu in the last month, will begin streaming full episodes of select CBS shows on Apple iPhones with a new app launched today.

TV.com will stream episodes of current shows CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and spinoff CSI: Miami, NCIS and The Young and the Restless for free with ads. It also will offer some older shows, including Beverly Hills 90210, MacGyver and Star Trek: The Original Series.

The free TV.com app also offers clips, news updates, artist interviews and other info from the TV.com site.

TV.com beats competitors Hulu and others to the iPhone with full ad-supported TV episodes from a major network.
