Gaiam and Planet Green partner for new DVD line

Feb. 4 | A new line of DVDs targeting the greener-living set will arrive in stores in March.Health and wellness content supplier Gaiam and Planet Green, the network dedicated to environmentally conscious living, have partnered to create a series of titles focusing on ways to cultivate a more sustainable lifestyle on a budget.
Gaiam will offer corrugated displays to retail and will work with Planet Green to include end tags on their programming to promote the releases. The titles also will be advertised on Treehugger.com, and Gaiam will target its database of eco-enthusiasts to promote the product launch.
Six titles covering a variety of green concerns will launch the line:
• Alter Eco: The complete first season of the lifestyle series features actor Adrian Grenier highlighting the green makeover of a 1920's Spanish home. Thirteen episodes on three discs; suggested retail price $39.98.
• Greensburg: A Story of Community Rebuilding: Hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio, Greensburg follows the work of one town to reinvent itself as a green community in the wake of a devastating tornado. A four-disc set, the documentary is priced at $39.98.
• Growing Green Babies: Hosted by a holistic pediatrician and sustainable living expert Sarah Snow, this program serves as an instructional to future mothers on making environmentally sound choices in areas from pre-natal care to decorating a child's nursery. Growing Green Babies also includes a prenatal workout. Suggested retail price $19.98.
• Renovation Nation's Save Water Save Money and Recycle, Reuse and Reclaim: Two DVDs compiled from the Planet Green show Renovation Nation, these discs offer homeowners tips on greening their home. Hosted by eco-builder Steve Thomas, each DVD carries a suggested retail price of $19.98.
• Simple Steps to a Greener Home: Author Danny Seo offers tips on how to increase a home's eco-friendly quotient in style. Suggested retail price $14.98.
The titles will be available online at Gaiam.com and Amazon.com, as well as in stores on March 24 (prebook Feb. 8).
