> Latin-flavored night of violence, humor and sensuality.
An unusual mix of social drama, oddball humor and politics, this energetic, low-budget indie effort set in 1994 offers Jon Seda as an about-to-be-married Mexican-American businessman from Southern California. He is sent on assignment to Mexico City, where he is subsequently robbed, beaten, kidnapped and romantically involved with a sexy nightclub entertainer (Itati Cantoral).
Shelf Talk: With a third of the dialog in Spanish with English subtitles and a cast sprinkled with such Latino performers as comic Paul Rodriguez and singer Lupillo, Night will score with Spanish-speaking viewers as well as those looking for an offbeat thriller. The film received lots of film festival play and exposure in the Spanish-speaking media. American actors Karen Black and Ed Begley Jr. also will bring a recognition factor to Anglo audiences.
